Scratch

This has been bothering me for some time now. It's like this scratching noise, the kind a cat would make when itching its chin... Thing is, it only happens at night and even worse, it seems to be getting...Louder.
As in, the night that I first heard it, it was barely audible but if you stayed quiet enough you could hear it. As time went on, the scratching noise increased and I got insomnia. This annoyed me, I asked my mother if she heard it too but she said no.

The thing is, we don't have any pets...

This night was the worst, the scratching was unbearable. Every time I go look for the source, it stops but soon as I get into bed, it starts again. We had a pest control person come in and check my room and house out, but there was no luck to what is the source of the noise.

Laying in bed, listening to that horrible noise that has engraved itself into my brain I finally realised that...

It wasn't scratching

But...

A laugh

That would explain the constant breeze that I feel on my neck every night...
